- Michael tries to escape with the money he's taken
while pretending to be the hit-man hired to kill Suzanne. No matter
what he tries to do to get away from town, he continues to be drawn
back by one fate or another until he confronts Suzanne and the real
hit man.

- Michael tries to be honest, and he loses a job
because of it. So, he lies in order to get the next job. He spends
the rest of the movie dealing with the increasingly complex
consequences of his momentary lack of integrity.
